Callabyte TV Ending Feb 2025 – Support Resources Available

Callabyte is here to help subscribers transition away from Callabyte TV service with training and resources.

Why Callabyte is ending TV service
As a small provider, it has become continually more challenging for our video provider, Co-Mo Connect, to offer high quality channels at a competitive price. Escalating costs have resulted in Co-Mo announcing earlier this year their intention to discontinue TV service. With no other viable option for a TV vendor,  Callabyte will also end TV service effective February 19, 2025. It is important to note that Callabyte telephone and internet services will not be affected by the change. These will continue with the excellent level of service you have grown to expect.

As we near the end of Callabyte TV service, we find subscribers are aware streaming services are growing in popularity. Many offer lower pricing and custom options. However, we also know many subscribers still enjoy a standard remote and traditional service with local channels, weekly shows, a set schedule, and a familiar on-screen guide.

For many, it is the comfort of what we are familiar with. Not to mention, where can you go to learn the ins and outs of streaming TV? Grandkids can help, but they move fast and aren’t always great teachers.

Introducing Streaming 101
To respond, Callabyte has invited interested subscribers to join us for a free afternoon of ‘Streaming 101’ training. Led by our manager of member services, Clay Carroll, the training has typically started with a basic question. ‘Who here is not familiar at all with streaming?’ When most all hands go up, there has been no shaming from Clay or our Callabyte team. We are here to help. During the session we start at square one, review the types of streaming services, walk through what is needed to get started and answer questions from attendees.

After a presentation that reviews the basics, subscribers have the opportunity to view live demos of popular streaming TV options. YouTubeTV, DirecTV Stream and Hulu Live demos have been available on three separate TVs. Our employees also answer questions and direct subscribers to resources that may be helpful as they transition from Callabyte TV service.

How to access streaming resources
In addition to the in person class, a wealth of resources about streaming TV is available for subscribers on the callabyte.com website. It includes frequently asked questions, where to buy the hardware you might need, how to sign up for different streaming services and a comparison of TV packages and pricing. Visit this tool here.

If you are interested in joining the Callabyte team for a Streaming 101 session, our next training is planned for Monday, December 16, starting promptly at 3 pm at the Callaway Electric office on 1313 Cooperative Drive in Fulton. Because space is limited, we kindly ask that you let us know if you plan to join by calling 573-826-2371, emailing info@callabyte.com or registering online.
